Vin Kruttiventi unveils innovative plan to resolve Ukraine-Russia conflict and to stop the unnecessary spending of billions of dollars to fund this long war
California, September 5th, 2024 – In an innovative and visionary view, Vin Kruttiventi, Top 2 Candidate for Congress for CA-14, unveiled his peace plan for ending the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
Kruttiventi’s comprehensive strategy aims to achieve lasting peace through impartial intervention, democratic governance, and international cooperation. "The conflict between Ukraine and Russia is not just a regional issue; it's a global security concern, as well as affecting the food security of millions of poor families worldwide. WE need immediate and coordinated international action for lasting peace," Kruttiventi stated.
Kruttiventi’s Approach Is built Around Seven Key Pillars:
Establishing a Non-NATO Peacekeeping Force: To ensure an impartial and secure resolution, Kruttiventi proposes deploying a peacekeeping force led by India, with contributions from countries like Vietnam, Japan, the Philippines, Nepal, and Mongolia. This force would oversee the ceasefire and secure Ukrainian territories while facilitating the withdrawal of Russian military forces, except for a managed area around Sevastopol. Additionally, Russian-backed separatist forces would disarm under a negotiated amnesty.
Autonomy and Fair Elections: Kruttiventi advocates for the safe return of displaced Ukrainians and the oversight of free and fair elections by neutral observers. Local elections in regions such as Crimea, Luhansk, and Donetsk would be held every two years, supervised by third-party observers from India, South Korea, Japan, Greece, and Brazil. Local police forces would undergo reforms to ensure they are appropriately sized and equipped with non-lethal weapons.
Referendums for Regional Status: To address the future status of contested regions, Kruttiventi proposes scheduled referendums for Crimea, Luhansk, and Donetsk between 2034 and 2036. These referendums would be overseen by delegations from Ukraine, Russia, the OECD, and international bodies, with specific thresholds determining the outcomes.
Reconstruction and Sanction Relief: Recognizing the need for recovery, Kruttiventi’s plan includes creating a reconstruction fund for Ukraine, supported by Russia, the EU, and the US. Sanctions on Russia would be eased in phases as the country meets sensible withdrawal and reform commitments.
Accountability for violation of the convention of war: To ensure justice, a tribunal would be held in Simla, India, beginning 18 months after a ceasefire. This tribunal would focus on major war crimes, with findings published for transparency.
Supporting India’s Role: Kruttiventi emphasizes India would be the best option as the mediator because of her prior experience in global Peacekeeping AND her cordial and trusted relationship with both sides of this war. If India can successfully bring the two sides to achieve peace, The United States, our worldwide allies, as well as Russia, will work together to elevate India as the 6th permanent member on the UN Security Council.
Vision for Russia’s Future: Many of Russia’s neighbors have legitimate concerns about leaving Russia under strongman rule and would want Sanctions to stay. To alleviate such concerns, we may explore transitioning to a constitutional monarchy similar to the Netherlands and Spain. Sanction relief can also be linked to NATO and Russia resolving existing territorial issues such as Kosovo and Transnistria.
"The resolution of the Ukraine conflict requires a multifaceted approach that balances immediate security needs with long-term stability and democratic principles," said Kruttiventi. "My broad strokes plan is designed to address the core issues of sovereignty, security, and justice while promoting a fair and balanced resolution that respects the rights and aspirations of all involved. I welcome any improvements to this plan."
